"My Bio"
I am a wife of 9 happy years to my husband, Jimmy, and I am also the mother of my 5 year old daughter, Ellie, which I used
HypnoBirthing with in July of 2006.
I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Educational Studies
from Ottawa University. After graduation my interests led me to teach
many different ages and subjects from Pre-school to High School...Art to Driver's Ed. Although I loved teaching children and continue to this day, I still felt like I was seeking more substance or enrichment from my profession. I began substitute teaching part-time in April of 2006 while preparing for Ellie's birth. During this time of anticipation, I researched several birthing methods and together with Jimmy, we decided on HypnoBirthing. I instantly fell in love with Marie Mongan's concept of birthing and knew that this was what I wanted for myself and our baby. Jimmy fully supported my desire to birth naturally in a calm and relaxing environment and thus, we began attending our birthing classes.
Ellie was born on a Tuesday morning at 5:34am; the birth was all I had envisioned and more! Ellie was very alert, healthy and beautiful. I accomplished an unmedicated, safe, and calm birth; and felt amazing in addition. It was the most wonderful and empowering experience I've
EVER been a part of. Since the day she was born I have felt an intense
connection to HypnoBirthing and all it encompasses.
After the sudden, tragic passing of my brother in June of 2007, I realized that the relaxation techniques used in HypnoBirthing extended beyond the parameters of birthing and into my everyday life. The same skills I once practiced for a smooth, healthy birth were converted into practice that helped me to grieve his loss and overcome anxiety.

We love & miss you!!
I truly feel "called" to teach HypnoBirthing which now 'fuels' my fire to share these feelings with other women. My passion for children, the bond of mother and father with child, and the amazing power of natural childbirth have all led me to where I am today. The element I once felt was absent from my repertoire has now been fulfilled. I find peace and comfort in teaching mothers and fathers to find their voice in birthings so they can not only choose positive outcomes,
but also immensely enjoy their birthing days.
